Oscar de la Renta Bridal Spring 2013

Breathtaking is the first word that comes to mind when describing Oscar de la Renta’s Bridal Spring 2013 collection. We loved every single dress that came down the runway. His collection was elegant, decadent and timeless. We loved the fabric, the lace, the colors, the florals. We loved that the dresses weren’t as traditional with the typical strapless gown. His collection included sleeves, color both bold and pastels, even a cape tulle! A truly memorable collection and the work of a genius! Oscar bridal look 2 Oscar bridal look 4 Oscar bridal look 8 Oscar bridal look 9 Oscar bridal look 10 Oscar bridal look 11 Oscar bridal look 13 Oscar bridal look 14 Oscar bridal look 15 Oscar bridal look 17 Oscar bridal look 18 Oscar bridal look 20 Oscar bridal look 21 Oscar bridal look 27 Oscar bridal look 30 Oscar bridal look 31 Oscar bridal look 33

Elie Saab for Pronovias 2013

We have been long time fans of Elie Saab couture gowns. His designs are romantic, glamorous and timeless. We are very excited about Elie Saab’s 2013 collection for Pronovias.  From the flowing gowns to the delicate and intricate embroideries its hard not to fall in love with each dress.

Monique Lhuillier Fall 2013

We promised to post our favorite bridal 2013 collections. One of our favorite bridal couture designers is Monique Lhuillier. Monique is know for her modern, feminine and glamourous wedding gowns. This year Monique presented her “dream-like” collection. Models floated down the runway wearing layers of delicate tulle, lace and intricate embroidery. We were pleased to see sleeves on some of the gowns. Not only does it suit our culture in the Middle East but it is also a nice change from the common strapless gown. Monique’s collection also showed the overskirt. She discussed the trends in her collection in an interview with HuffPost Weddings: “Sleeves are very strong in my eyes, long sleeves with a column silhouette. I also think dresses with a lot of draping in lace are another strong silhouette. And I think the overskirt is going to be a very popular accessory. Girls love to transform their gowns, so this is just having two looks in one night. All of the overskirts [on my dresses] come off, so you can have two looks.” Last but certainly not the least, Monique showed shoes for the first time, something we can’t wait to see more of! Enough said.. now enjoy her collection.

Thursday’s Celebrity Inspiration: Ivanka Trump

Every Thursday we will be posting about a celebrity bride to inspire all our brides-to-be. We can’t think of a better way to start than by posting about one of our favorite celebrity brides Ivanka Trump. Ivanka wore a custom made dress by Vera Wang inspired by Grace Kelly’s iconic wedding dress. The dress had three different tiers of lace in different shades of ivory. Though Ivanka opted for a classic dress, her look was modern and simple as she chose to wear her hair down instead of the usual bride up-do. The lace sleeves added a royal factor to her look. Ivanka accessorized with diamonds including an art deco bracelet and multi cut diamond earrings from her own collection. Her wedding reception was designed by Preston Bailey, the celebrity wedding planner.
